I have just returned from an amazing cultural and yoga retreat experience organised by Abhi, which was booked through my yoga teacher. As a group of 11 we visited the Golden Triangle - Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, before travelling further north to Rishikesh in the foothills of the Himalayas. Our transport from attraction to attraction and city to city was arranged meticulously on a comfortable minibus with regular refreshments provided for us and pit stops along the way.

Delhi has witnessed rise and fall of many great empires, glimpse of which is still present in its monuments and streets that have been walked and inhabited by great warriors since decades. It makes Delhi a destination worth visiting by all, irrespective of age and interest.

AGRA

This historical city stands 200 km south of New Delhi, on the banks of river Yamuna. Over three centuries ago, it was a powerful Mughal capital and the most important city of northern India. It was at this time that Agra's many timeless architectural wonders were born: the wonderful Taj Mahal, the awesome Agra Fort, and the sprawling Agra Fort - a whole city in itself. History, architecture, romance all together create the magic of Agra, and hence, makes for a must-visit for anyone living in or visiting India. 

 

Agra is also well known for its marble artefacts which are best bought in the Sadar Bazaar or Kinaari Bazaar area.

JAIPUR

Jaipur is a place not less than a paradise. It is impossibly romantic and picturesque, decked with royal palaces atmospheric Havlies, eclectic museums, and ancient towering temples. Fusion of old and modern, Chaotic yet tranquil welcoming and hospitable Jaipur is the beating heart of Rajasthan Tourism. Jaipur Tourism has something to offer to everyone; colourful melange of magnificent forts and palaces to feel the royal bliss; colourful bazaars and delightfully chaotic streets full of life for those who wants to explore the local life of Jaipur.

RISHIKESH

Rishikesh is known as the Yoga Capital of the World, which is also popularly known as Tapo Bhumi, the home for Meditation of gods and does Yoga. The peaceful place feels like heaven as it is the town for many temples with swift, pure, and clear flowing water from the Ganges on the side. Rishikesh is also known for its connection with The Beatles. In February 1968, members of the legendary English rock band visited Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram (now popularly known as the Beatles Ashram) to learn transcendental meditation. The band composed nearly 48 songs during their time at the Maharishi's ashram, many of which appear on the White Album (and a few from Abbey Road).

Daily Sample Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi   

Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, your host will meet you at the arrivals area and take you to your hotel to rest and relax. After taking some rest, you will start your journey with the visit of.  

QUTUB MINAR: A UNESCO World Heritage Site was built by Qutbu'd-Din Aibak in AD 1199. Qutub Minar is a minaret and victory tower comprising the Qutub complex. After this we will explore. 

LOTUS TEMPLE: Lotus Temple located in New Delhi, India. Like eight Houses of Worship around the world, this magnificent structure stands for the principle of the oneness of humankind.  

Day 2: Sightseeing in Delhi and Drive to Agra 

In the morning after to enjoy breakfast, you' will check out from hotel and start your day with the visit of a divine place call Akshardham Temple 

SWAMI NARAYAN AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE:  Akshardham' means the divine abode of God. It is hailed as an eternal place of devotion, purity, and peace. Akshardham is a Mandir – an abode of God, a Hindu house of worship, and a spiritual and cultural campus dedicated to devotion, learning and harmony. 
After the tour, you'll drive to Agra (200 KM, 3 Hours Approximate), checkin your hotel and rest.  

Day 3: Sightseeing Agra and Drive to Jaipur (4.20 Hours Approximate)  

Today you are going to visit TAJ MAHAL with the first shine of sun.

  

TAJ MAHAL: An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, the Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage.  

And then you will go back to your hotel to have breakfast. After your breakfast you will check out and move to another place to visit before driving to Jaipur. 

 

AGRA FORT: The Agra Fort is a historical Mughal fort in the city of Agra, also known as Agra's Red Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was crowned at this fort in 1530. 

After to have an amazing day, you will move to Jaipur (240 KM, 4.20 Hours)  

Day 4: Sightseeing in Jaipur  

Start your morning exploring the beauty of Jaipur, Post having breakfast, we would take you to pay a visit to the following places. 

AMBER FORT: Visit the majestic AMBER FORT, known for its artistic Hindu style elements and breathtaking views of the surrounding area.  

JAGAT TEMPLE: Jagat Shiromani Temple is a 17th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, Meera Bai, and Vishnu and Step.  

JAL MAHAL: Marvel at the beauty of Jal Mahal, a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. 

After lunch  

CITY PALACE: The City Palace, Jaipur is a royal residence and former administrative headquarters of the rulers of the Jaipur State in Jaipur, Rajasthan.  

HAWA MAHAL (Palace of the Winds): Begin your Jaipur tour with the HAWA MAHAL (Palace of Winds), an ornate palace with a unique façade of 953 small windows.  

At last, you will explore traditional handicrafts market of Jaipur famous for women jewelry and handicrafts. 

After having an amazing day, you will check into your hotel in Jaipur for an overnight stay at the hotel.  

Day 5: Flight to Rishikesh and Sightseeing  

Today you are going to take a flight to Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun (nearest to Rishikesh) from Jaipur International Airport early in the morning. 

Our driver will come to pick you at Airport and will transfer you to the hotel 

After taking some rest, you will go for a welcome tour of that spiritual city. You are going to visit.  

RAM JHULA:  Ramjhula (Hindi word for 'swing’), a famous hanging bridge located in the heart of Rishikesh. This iconic bridge is named after Lord Rama, one of the most important gods in Hindu mythology. 

HOLY RIVER GANGES: The Ganges, also known as the Ganga, is India's holiest river, deeply revered in Hinduism. It's considered a goddess, "Ganga Maa," and its waters are believed to possess purifying and healing powers. 

You are going to attend worlds famous fire ceremony side by Holy River Ganges and to witness that magical energy 

Day – 6, Rishikesh Sightseeing 

After enjoying your breakfast, your day tour will start with the visit. 

VASHISTHA CAVE: is devoted to a great sage Vashistha, one of the Saptarishis (one of the seven great sages) in ancient India. The Rishi Vashistha is observed as Manas Putra of Lord Brahma and the Guru of Lord Ram.  

KAMAKSHI DEVI TEMPLE: This exquisitely designed temple was inaugurated by the Grace of Gurudev Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.  

BEATLES ASHRAM: The Beatles Ashram is also called Chaurasi Kutia near the bank Ganga River in Rishikesh, India. It was founded in 1963 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and gained popularity in 1968 as The Beatles and various other famous people came to study meditation there.  

At evening you will have your own day for shop, massage and other things. 

Day – 7, Rishikesh Free Day to Do Your Own Things 

Day – 8, Check Out Day. We will drop you at Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun according to your flight timing. It's only 40 minutes far from our place.
